Distributed Education is learning and teaching that includes choices from a variety of learning technologies.
For students: flexibility and accessibility
For students, Distributed Education offers flexibility and accessibility that would not otherwise be possible. Students taking DE courses may spend less time on campus than students who are engaged in more traditional courses.
For faculty: enhance student learning
Many traditional face-to-face course instructors are implementing distributed learning components to enhance their classes. Whether it be by adding audio components so that students can listen to experts in the field, panel discussions, or web components (which may include audio) that allow learners access to course material, resources and activities on an "anytime, anywhere" basis, Distributed Education is becoming more available to both instructors and students.
